You always know that things are moving well when one of the world’s largest & most respected airlines in the world announces new routes to your country, and that’s just what happened recently for Montenegro as Turkish Airlines connected Istanbul with both Podgorica & Tivat.

As demand has increased in general with reports suggesting that numbers now easily surpass figures in 2019, Montenegro has continued to excel itself on the Global Tourism stage, regularly being voted as the Number one Place to visit in 2022/2023. Despite the pandemic (which almost entirely wiped out the Tourism Industry in Montenegro) domestic investment in the country’s infrastructure remained very strong, resulting in a renewed effort to attract more tourists to its shores, allowing people to marvel in the beautiful towns such as Kotor & Budva.

Not only that, but foreign investment has also continued to excel, such as Porto Montenegro (which is owned by the renowned Investment Corporation of Dubai) collaborating with Drydocks World Dubai to renovate the Bijela Shipyard, which will now be one of the top Yacht Refit Facilities in the World. Adriatic 42, which is it’s new name, will aim to repair 14 superyachts during it’s first operational year, increasing to 109 repairs by it’s the fifth year.

The first flight to Tivat Airport operated last week, and it was a full flight so to meet demand they will be flying to Montenegro three times per week up until October 31st 2022. Turkish Airlines General Manager, Bilal Eksi, who was at the inaugural flight mentioned ‘We are connecting Tivat to 128 countries of the World as our 340th destination, and Montenegro is a country that we already have strong ties with. As a centre of attraction with it’s wonderful location, History, rich cuisine and beauty of the Adriatic Coast we are pleased to welcome them into our network.’
