Montenegro to get it’s first Starbucks Store in 2024!
As much as we should all immerse ourselves into the local traditions and cultures, especially when we either holiday or move abroad, we do also miss our home comforts and for a country like Montenegro, getting it’s first Starbucks in 2024 could be a huge deal especially when it’s trying to appeal to a more westernised audience.

In a recent meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Abazović, the CEO of Zeren Holding who have acquired the franchise for Starbucks, discussed the final details of the initial investment with plans to open their first store in Podgorica.
Led by Turkish Businessman Mustafa Yigit, Zeren Holding already have eight offices across six different countries with a focus on International Investments and Ventures. In fact the company already have a presence in Montenegro with a wholesale clothing firm and a series of restaurants with mobile catering services.
Mustafa put forward a five-year investment plan in the meeting with further ventures into Banking and Real Estate on the way whilst Abazović was keen to express his gratitude for the new partnership as well as encouragement for other foreign investors who wish to enter the Montenegrin Market, which just happens to be one of the fastest growing economies on the European Continent.
Already a big ‘household’ name Starbucks have more than 37,500 stores across 86 different countries, and they’ve set a goal of reaching 45,000 stores by the end of 2025. They opened their first store outside the US in Tokyo 1996, and their first UK store was opened in 1998. In South East Europe they already have shops in Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania so this new venture in Montenegro will certainly help them hit that target and reach an even wider consumer base with their coffee!
