Jet2 Launches New Routes Between the UK & Montenegro

Ana Tripković Marković, the Director of Montenegro's National Tourist Organization (NTO), has announced a promising boost in tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom, thanks to the introduction of new flights departing from Birmingham and London with Jet2, in addition to their already existing air link with Manchester.

In a groundbreaking move, the Tourist Organization participated in the "A Night with the Stars" event  for the first time which was held in Birmingham and organized by the UK's leading tour operator, Jet2holidays. Considered one of the United Kingdom's premier annual occasion this prestigious gathering brings together over 1,000 travel agents and luminaries from the global tourism industry.

Underlining the significance of this collaboration, the NTO participated as one of the event's sponsors, presenting a remarkable opportunity to showcase Montenegro as a top-tier tourist destination.

The opening ceremony of the event was presided over by Steve Heapy, the CEO of Jet2 who pointed out that due to the recovery of the market & the optimism around tourism, they anticipated a 50% growth in the company by the year 2030. In a recent press interview he commented that ‘This projection translates into increased passenger traffic across all the markets wh ere we currently operate air routes. Our forecasts for the upcoming year indicate substantial sales growth. Consequently, we expect destinations to further develop their tourism offerings and accommodation capacities to keep pace with these burgeoning trends’.

The new flights which are set to operate from Birmingham and London to Montenegro in the forthcoming summer season, will further boost the company's exceptional performance which already boasts an impressive average cabin load factor of 90% during the summer of 2023. It’s already being said that seat capacity during the Summer of 2024 will increase by 12% compared to this year.

Montenegro was also heavily promoted at the ‘Destination and Product Showcase Trade Fair’ which was held in association with ‘A Night with the Stars’. Attendees showed substantial interest in Montenegro, with many expressing their intent to include it on their upcoming travel itineraries.

NTO CG Director Ana Tripković Marković expressed her satisfaction with the organization's participation in both events and she pointed out that the organization have maintained an active promotional presence in the UK market, resulting in Montenegro's widespread recognition in British media outlets such as The Telegraph, Daily Mail, The Times, The Guardian, and Sunday Times.

Ana commented that ‘Events of this nature hold immense significance for Montenegro and provide an exceptional opportunity to enhance Montenegro's global reputation as a premier tourist destination. We've achieved remarkable results in the UK market this year, as corroborated by the European Travel Commission's quarterly reports. We anticipate that the enhanced air connectivity will significantly contribute to an influx of tourists from this key market’.
