Expressing their delight in Montenegro’s natural beauty along with highlighting the growth trend in Montenegro’s tourism and therefore the need to constantly meet tourism demands & infrastructure, the Director of NIOUM General Trading and the Founding partner of Ayana Holding met recently with Prime Minister Dritan Abazović to discuss projects in Budva, Ulcinj and Montenegro’s Northern areas.
It’s not the first time that groups from the UAE have turned their attention towards Montenegro as back in 2017 they were one of the largest foreign investors in the country, contributing around €92m within the first 11 months of that year. Not only that, but they were also heavily involved in the construction of the Capital Plaza Centre in Podgorica and Porto Montenegro in Tivat. Renewable Energy develop & operator Masdar are also heavily involved in Montenegro’s wind farms including the growth of their ‘green energy’ initiatives over the next few years.
Back in 2020, it was noted that the total value of trade between the two countries eclipsed $31.3m USD making the UAE Montenegro’s largest trading partner within the Gulf Co-operation Council.
