Air Montenegro (the National Carrier of Montenegro) was launched as a result of the previous carrier, Montenegro Airlines, going into administration and being shut down by the government in December of 2020. Since the new company launched in June 2021, they have been going from strength to strength, and recently announced several new routes to other key European destinations.
Understanding the need and importance of having a national carrier, it’s a great time to be releasing these new routes into the market which not only allows them, and Montenegro, in general, to capitalise on the ever-increasing tourism market in the country, but it also establishes good air connectivity and major cooperation with European tour operators, who as part of their own marketing can further push Montenegro as a fabulous destination to holiday in.
Already flying routes to Belgrade, Ljubljana, Istanbul and Banja Luka, the new routes will include Paris, Lyon, Nantes, Prague and Zurich, with flights starting in April, May & June. With more routes comes more expansion and as such, Air Montenegro are also currently looking at further investment in their fleet, as the two Embraer aircraft they have at the moment won’t be enough to meet the demands for the new routes, especially during the busy Summer seasons.
