A New Cable Car for the Ski Slopes of Kolašin

Kolašin is already quite a popular Skiing area, but the inauguration of a new Cable car connecting both resorts of Kolašin 1600 and Kolašin 1450 will increase infrastructural connectivity, enable the use of a further 45km of ski slopes in the region, and elevate the resorts global attractiveness as a competitive ski centre.

There is already quite a bit of work going on within the two resorts, which includes the development of a brand new Hotel & Apartment block, and there’s further development planned to the tune of around €20m in projects this year.

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić who was at the ceremony commented afterwards that the ‘Project is an incentive for what Montenegro desperately needs at the moment, which is to improve transport infrastructure’. He didn’t go as far as saying whether he would be utilising the slopes anytime soon, but he was certainly pleased that this part of the project had been completed, and they were well on their way to achieving their goals in the region.

The re-development has also included a ski-track for beginners, another 10km of ski-slopes, around 250 extra parking spaces and new services + amenities.

It’s certainly a fact within the international community that Montenegro is the most upcoming place to visit in 2022 & beyond certainly during the busy Summer season, and the hope is that the new developments in Kolašin can continue to drive tourists to Montenegro and more importantly to the slopes during the Winter season.
